'We are sorry for the murder of Aide Nava and demand an investigation,' said her political movement, the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). Local media cited Guerrero's deputy attorney general, Gregorio Apresa Herrera, as saying that Nava's headless body had been found in a rural area, with a message from a criminal gang known as Los Rojos. The gang, active in the drug trade but like many in Mexico also involved in other types of criminal activities, threatened to do the same to all politicians who would not cooperate with them.
